I play an RPG game once a week with a group of friends, and one of them decided to draw our in-game party of characters. This was the outcome. I really like the piece as a whole, including the color choice and overall composition, and I aspire to be able to draw figures like that in the future.

This is a collection of works by Guy Laramee. These are landscapes or other setting carved into books. I thought it was pretty cool.

These are some really cool pictures I found on Deviantart. It’s concept art for a videogame I have been playing recently called Starcraft 2, which is made by Blizzard, which also made World of Warcraft. I have always really liked their art style, and I thought these were especially cool. These are ideas for potential units to be added to the game in expansions.

This is a guy I found who does really long panels of Japanese nature scenery by depicting it in gunpowder and then blowing it up. You can just skip to the end of the video, that is where the explosion is.

Semester Project Update 1

I spent all of yesterday working out numerous technical difficulties with the graphics tablet, and I finally got it working. I have started sketching everything out in gray, and when that is done I will go over it in black in a new layer. The hardest part is going to be transitioning from the sketchy stick figures I am drawing now to full bodies. I need to work on my proportions.

These are links to a web comic that I really like. The artist uses a graphics tablet to draw the comics and they render on his computer. This is something that I am interested in because it gives the artist more freedom with complete erasing, repetition of images, and more dynamic coloring options.
